-
- If you are upgrading an existing XGATE installation, the best thing to do
- is copy the current XGATE files to a different directory, delete all files
- in XGATE's directory and start with fresh copy of the new files (a lot of
- the filenames have changed).
-
- Now, go to where you copied the previous version and print the XGATE.CFG
- file. Using it as a reference, edit the new version's XGATE.CFG with the
- previous values where applicable.
-
- There are a number of new options in XGATE.CFG. If you have any problems
- or questions, refer to the new documentation.
-
- The new version now requires that the computer be logged in under a user
- name that has queue server rights to the SMTP queues, prior to running
- XGATE. When you are sure there is no outbound mail queued, use XGATE's
- SETUP program to delete the SMTP queues, and then re-create them. After
- that, use the Assign Queue Server Rights option to grant queue server
- privileges to an existing user name that XGATE will run under.
-
- If you have a serial number for the new version, use the Serialize option
- in SETUP to register your installation.
-
- Also, the new version now has its own TCP/IP protocol stack. Ensure that
- you are no longer loading the FTP kernel, and also make sure that the BIND
- and ROUTE commands in XGATE.CFG are set correctly. If you're using Novell
- ODI drivers, make sure the NET.CFG has a Ethernet_II frame type bound to
- the active board.
-
- You should be all set to go....
